Bolt-on fitment
No engine machining and no chassis cutting. Standard hand tools and a torque wrench.
Keep the rickshaw. Change the fuel. A bolt-on kit converts an existing petrol or CNG auto to hydrogen in a single workshop day — same chassis, same engine, same driving feel, no tailpipe CO2.
Overview
India has millions of roadworthy autos with years of service left in them. The MH-3W kit keeps that vehicle earning: the engine, gearbox and body stay, and an on-board generation unit feeds hydrogen into the intake in place of petrol or CNG.
Drivers get the throttle response they already know, a shift-length range and a fuel bill that drops from day one. Fleet owners get a conversion that costs a fraction of a new electric three-wheeler.

Why this kit
Six decisions taken on the basis of pilot fleets running full shifts in Ahmedabad traffic.
No engine machining and no chassis cutting. Standard hand tools and a torque wrench.
Pull-away and hill response tuned to match the vehicle's original petrol map.
The original petrol line stays live, so a driver is never stranded mid-shift.
About ₹1.10 against ₹2.30 on CNG, on the same route and passenger load.
Optional GPS module logs range, water level and cell health per vehicle.
When a rickshaw retires, the kit moves to the next one. It outlives the vehicle.
How it works
Four steps, all of them running while the engine is turning.
Nine litres of purified water goes into the under-seat tank. One fill covers a full shift.
The cell produces hydrogen only while the engine runs, matched to throttle position.
Gas enters through the retrofit manifold; the controller trims the mixture in real time.
The exhaust carries water vapour. No CO2, no particulates, no unburnt fuel smell.

Specifications
Indicative figures for the pilot kit. Final values are confirmed on the fitment certificate issued with each conversion.
Pilot conversions run under an RTO trial registration. Type approval for retail retrofit is in progress; fleet operators can join the pilot programme in the meantime.
Questions
Anything not covered here, write to us and an engineer will answer.
No. The kit feeds hydrogen into the existing intake and trims the mixture electronically. A healthy engine needs nothing beyond a service; a tired one should be tuned before conversion, the same as for any fuel change.
None. Hydrogen is produced only while the engine is running and consumed within seconds. There is no reservoir to rupture in a collision, which is the main safety difference from a CNG conversion.
The display warns at two litres remaining, and the controller falls back to the original petrol line so the vehicle keeps running. Refilling takes about a minute at any water point.
A conversion costs roughly a fifth of a new e-rickshaw and needs no charging infrastructure or overnight parking with a socket. The kit also transfers to another vehicle when the current one retires.
Pilot vehicles run under an RTO trial registration issued for the programme. Retail retrofit begins once type approval is granted; until then, conversions are limited to registered pilot fleets.
Authorised workshops trained by Manifold. Fitment takes six to eight hours, and the first two services are included with every pilot conversion.
Tell us how many vehicles you run and where they operate. We will come back with a quote, a workshop slot and a demo ride.
